Spill Media are about to embark on a new and exciting project-Swansea Telly.
Spill Media is one of the partners on the Swansea Telly project. Swansea
Telly is a new and innovative collaborative Digital Inclusion Project which will
involve partners from the Swansea Media Consortium, training minority groups in
all aspects of media production, to create content for an online TV station-
Swansea Telly.
Swansea Telly is a digital inclusion project funded by The Wales
Cooperative Centre’s, Communities 2.0 scheme. The project will involve Spill
Media working with various minority groups in Swansea, training them in
film-making and enabling them to create short films to be uploaded onto the
Swansea Telly internet channel.
The Project will focus on tackling digital exclusion faced by older
people, recently unemployed and social housing tenants, as well as some work
with younger people. This will be achieved through engagement with the following
activities;
• ICT- Computer Skills- from using word-processing to uploading
videos
• Film Productions skills- camera, sound, editing
• Digital
Photography
• Intergenerational work
• Providing the groups a
platform to “Have a voice”
Our team start the training courses in September, so please check back for
updates and links to the Swansea Telly site.
